Autobiographical Incident

Throughout life several events occur that shape us into the people we are today. My graduation from Sts. Joseph and John Interparochial school set a major milestone in my life. Graduation from the eighth grade marked the beginning of my journey through the next four years of high shool. At Sts. Joseph and John eighth grade graduation was the most anticipated event through the nine years i spent there.

Graduation morning began with a breakfast prepared for our class by mothers who volunteered their time. All ninety six students were assembled into McGraw Hall and waited to be served. As we sat at our tables talking to our friends we could smell the delicious breakfast that awaited us.

Immediately following breakfast we went over into St. Joseph church for a slideshow. A special slideshow was prepared for us by our teachers. The slideshow included pictures full of memories from kindergarten all the way through the eighth grade. Everyone sat there as we slowly watched ourselves grow up throughout the years. Memories that were shown us that day on the screen will be remembered for years to come.

Our graduation ceremony at night began promptly at seven o'clock. Graduation took place at St. Joseph church and was presided over by our principal Mrs. Thomas and assistant principal Mrs. Becka. As we walked down the center aisle in pairs of two we were filled with thoughts of the years ahead of us and saw several flashes, as parents tried to capture the moment.

Graduation and the receiving of our certificates marked the next step in all our lives. As we got ready to go our seperate ways to new high schools, tears rolled down several faces, while smiles were shown on others. The years spent at Sts. Joseph and John and the friends made there will stick with us throughout the years. Graduation taught us all an important lesson; that even though distance may seperate you, friendship can endure it.
